Augmented Reality Chinese Learning Game

Motivation
This Chinese learning game coined an Edutainment game, captures the essense of learning while having fun. The aim is the stir up interest in the youths of today in learning the language by combining modern day technology with traditional teaching methods. The interactive platform allows keen learners a hands-on approach.

How the application works
A deck of cards, each with a chinese character printed on it, provides the library of words which are available for learning. These cards are slotted into placeholder templates (These placeholders can either hold one or two character cards).

A simple webcamera is used for the running application. When the template is placed in view of the camera, the AR application will display/augment a 3D model dipicting the meaning of the word. A corresponding audio feedback of the accurate pronounciation will be played.
